A 5th Wheel Camper - gives you the best
of both worlds.
The 5th wheel camper is now
well established as a very popular RV. Its advantages over the
all-in one approach of the motor home have been responsible for
this. In case you didn't know, the 5th wheel camper is similar to
the conventional travel trailer, except for the towing
hitch.
The "Fifth Wheel" referred to in the
description of the 5th wheel camper, is the method of attaching the
towing hitch to the towing vehicle.This hitch is mounted on the bed
of your truck, just forward of the rear axle, so that front of the
5th wheel camper sits above your truck bed - this section usually
contains the bedroom.

of the 5th wheel camper?
* Immediately apparent when you tow a 5th wheel
camper, there are not the same handling problems associated with a
conventional large trailer, due to the location of the
hitch.
* The weight of the 5th wheel camper is over the
rear axle, giving better traction. The conventional trailer,
hitched behind the rear of the towing vehicle multiplies the
forces exerted on it.
* The overall length of towing vehicle, plus 5th
wheel camper, is much less than the that of the equivalent vehicle
plus conventional trailer. This helps maneuverability,
for instance when parking.
* When on vacation, there is no need to take your
house to pick up the groceries, as is the case with a motor
home. You leave the 5th wheel camper in the RV park, and
drive away.
* Similarly you can take a day trip in your
vehicle, while your 5th wheel camper keeps your place back at the
camping park.
* You can have your 5th wheel camper serviced
while shopping in town in your vehicle. Or have your vehicle
serviced, and still have your 5th wheel camper to live
in!
* The cost of a 5th wheel camper is much less than
that of a motor home with the same floor area. And you can have
the same luxury features to make it a real home.
* Slide-outs, full size appliances, sleep 7 easily
- all is possible in the 5th wheel camper. The value is even
more if you already have a suitable truck for
towing.
